Nationwide closure of traders on 18 February against the terrorist attack in Pulwama

Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has called for nationwide closure on Monday 18th February after the terrorist attack in Pulwama. It has been called in order to express sympathy for the families of the 40 CRPF martyrs who were killed in the attack.

Rajasthan government is going to introduce bill today on Gurjar and upper reservation

Gehlot government today presented the bill for giving 4 percent reservation to the Gujjars in the assembly on Wednesday, considering the movement of the Gujjars before the Lok Sabha elections. After presenting the bill to give 4 percent reservations to five castes including Gurjar, it is ready to be passed today in the assembly.

The Rajasthan Backward Classes Amendment Bill was placed by the Cabinet Minister BD Kalla in the House. After this bill, the way for the benefit of reservations to the five castes, including Gurjar, will be cleared in government jobs and educational institutions.

Simultaneously, a 10 percent poor civil reservation bill will also be introduced in Rajasthan. On the sixth day of the demand for reservation, Gurjar has been frozen on rail tracks and roads across the state.

Meanwhile, the government continued to hold meetings in this regard on Tuesday and decided in the cabinet that on Wednesday, a resolution letter to give 4 percent Gujjar reservation along with 10 percent central reservation bill in the assembly will be passed. 

Significantly, in Rajasthan, Gujjars are getting one percent reservation. With that same reservation, the total reservation limit in Rajasthan has gone up to 50 percent and the Rajasthan High Court has stayed the ban on the reservation for which the Rajasthan Government has gone to the Supreme Court. The demand for Gujjars is to give them a 5 percent reservation. In the Rajasthan assembly, along with the reservation bill, the government will also get a waiver for 2019-20 under which approval will be taken for spending on salaries, pensions, administration etc. on the money. After the Lok Sabha elections, the Rajasthan government will come out with its full budget in July.

Prior to this, a bill has been introduced in the Rajasthan assembly for two times (2015 and 2017) Gujjar reservation, but both stopped at the High Court. This time amendment to the law of 2017 will be amended to five percent reservation.

After passing this Reservation Bill, Rajasthan Government will also send the Central Government to inspect it in the ninth schedule so that it can be saved from judicial review. At the same time, the Bill of Gujjar reservation will be said in the central government's jurisdiction, to amend the law in order to give 5 percent reservation for the Gujjars in the same way as the law has been amended to give reservation to 10 percent poor people.
